Gérard Bertrand, Giant of the Deep South

With a wry smile, Gérard Bertrand describes himself as being often on planes, regularly among the vines, occasionally at Château l’Hospitalet, and at home with his family whenever time permits. This ‘orchestral conductor’, as he describes himself, heads a group that includes an amazing wine merchants and fifteen wine estates producing a combined total of two million bottles per year. This former professional rugby player is in love with his region of Languedoc, where he engages in his constant quest for wine excellence by focusing particularly on biodynamic principles.
